This has all the greediness of urban life, politics, policing, the very, very good, and the worst of people are all on display. Even the headliner of the entire show is a despicable awful person with a knack for his actual job. Using Boston as the background is super cool, as I see Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are behind it. The grittiness does show through. Interesting showing the criminal element, and who they are as people and what's going into their lives that motivate them to commit crimes. Often all of these forces are operating parallel to each other as in real life until they have a collision with one another. Kevin Bacon was stellar. I won't get into the characters because it may give away stuff. I thoroughly enjoyed it, it's as good as any of the mob movies that are out there over the years. And very good at showing the conundrum of good versus evil, white versus black versus gray. Very complex world we live in.
An amazing story told by the people who lived it. I'm old enough to have grown up with the Cowboys of the 70s followed by immense success in the 90s. Love it or hate it the story itself is incredible. It is one of the most intriguing historical dramas in all of sports. They did a great job here. The only issue I can find really is that we want more. There's never enough time to get all the stories in and all the details. The subject matter is so intriguing that I could listen to their stories all day as they dissect different things that we've heard about or maybe saw snippets of as they were occurring. To get the backstory of a lot of these things is so interesting. Hopefully there is enough video left to add an epilogue to all of this so they can give us more someday.
They know they did something right when the only thing we can complain about is that we want more! Well done!

So basically a gold star athlete is a womanizer. Not that exciting to hear. Usually we hear about athletes beating the living shit out of women so this is pretty low on the totem pole. Certainly not endorsed but common place where ever you have young men and money and then older men and money. So many have fallen prey to this whole thing in their world. Certainly he was wrong, and it is what it is without a doubt. But he's not alone. He's a very, very, very good company. In cases like these people are able to separate what he did for them as a star quarterback, compared to how he is in real life off the field. We see that with Rockstars all the time. Drug addicted, disgusting mess, but people love them, and hang on their every word and their every song. It is definitely a weird phenomenon that human beings have with celebrity status people. This was very one-sided, not a whole lot of people being interviewed that say a lot of good things. I'm sure there's many out there, but they didn't want that in this particular documentary. This is one of the worst ones I've seen in the series. Knowing what I know now I wouldn't of bothered.
