My first contact with Wicked City was through live action version filmed in Hong Kong in 1992, it didnt impressed me so much but somehow the story stayed in my mind for a long time. Finally i got an opportunity to watch animated version and i was blown away. The animation is just perfect, one of the better i have seen from the 80s decade, even in the rank of the more known Akira but i must admit that i enjoyd Wicked City a lot more. The story is interesting it is unusual and it is mixture of Cyberpunk atmosphere and world with more supernatural horror themes with some bizzare unique only Japanese twists, there are also a lot of nudity and violence but it goes so well in the story. I recommend this animation to anyone who loves animation from that time, science fiction and horror.

Golan Globus and their studio Cannon were known mostly for cheesy action and adventure movies which i enjoyed it a lot for a good fun, but there were few very solid and good movies produced by this studio. Avenging Force is one of them, starring well known combination Michael Dudikoff and Steve James as main protagonist, more known to people from the movie also produced by Cannon, American Ninja. Avenging Force is more realistitic gritty and very violent movie with interesting plot, antagonists are very good especially John P Ryan he is so good in his role as the leader of the secret right wing society. Also which i found interesting is that this movie definetely has influenced a lot more known later action movies like Hard Target (really simillar setting, locations (Louisiana swamps, gang who is killing people for fun and money) and also i think even that this movie influenced Lethal Weapon, Steve James and Dudikoff are predecessor to Gibson/Glover comapnionship. Steve James was fantastic in this movie, he was one of my favorite action stars from the 80s, sadly he passed really young in just 41 years from cancer in 1993 (may he RIP). The directing is very cool and i especially enjoyed the heavy atmosphere in the mardi gras scene. This is definetly the best movie from David Firstenberg together with Revenge of the Ninja. The soundtrack is also very good and goes well with the scenes, the soundtrack is composed by George S. Clinton who has also done soundtracks for other Cannon and Fistenberg movies and later for Mortal Kombat. I really enjoyed this movie and i recommend it to anyone who loves good action from the 80s decade. My grade 8/10.
