It was the only episode of series who I saw. And, I admitt, the motif was exactly Dame Judy Dench. The feeling after the final of this episode was just special, the connection between she and the Hamlet circle being not only surprising but pure fascinating.
A great travel across roots of a great actress , the story of her father being admirable completed by almost magic deep roots of a Shakespearerian interpreter.

I suppose , correct is the fair term to define it. A mini - series, different perspectives , illustrated by each episode , biography and writings in a kind of symbiosis.
From 1988 , when, as pre teenager I discovered , Franz Kafka is my favorit writer, today , verz near by les than the second half of life, seeing him as a last prophet . So, I am profound subjective and if part of scenes were not exatly on my taste , the good intentions, atmosphere, ephort of Joel Basman to propose a portrait out of cliches is not just a bad option.
And, sure, two precious virtues - the Reiner Stach opus as seed , the fair remind - and illustration of familiar episodes of life and writings.

I admitt, I like this film more for performances than for story. Because the story seems more a parable about people , passion , ambition and guilt ,the real details being pieces of a fresco about clash between two perspectives defining two men.
A film about the deep loneliness of a man and not only him. About a decision, a project and a terrible gun. And about moralty of radical decisions.
Impressive, no doubts. And admirable performances of Robert Downey Jr. And Cylian Murphy.
