Seeing, after decades of fame , difficult to be real satisfied and to not suppose than you are too far by the spirit and sensitivity of period.

But, exept George Sanders effort, not easy to be very indulgent. It seems fake and cheesy , sure, using the recipe of genre but , more than sentimental super film, you expect more.

Or the romance rules and not exactly in good manner and the religion seems more a veil. And the story itself is nothing more than a hurry sketch.

Sure, the actors. But is it real enough ?

The illusion of beginning new life , far by location of terrible event is brocken by a reporter discovering his violent past.

All the fragile equilibrium is last. He tries fix the things but the sense seems to the worst.

A last gesture has, for him, the only reasonable option as cure for the evil who he comitted at early age.

The realism remains the significant good point of story, near performances.

A Soviet convicted , after a storm, on the beach of Hokkaido. A fisherman helping him and being his host. The story of stranger, perceived with reserves by the wife of fisherman , the way to prison - ship in next morning.
