  • Disappointed due to how rushed everything was, but if I hadn't played the game I think I would've liked this episode more

Let me start off with the best part of this episode - the spores and monsters were absolutely amazing! The show has done a spectacular job of making the set and the special effects look so eerily similar to the game.

The downside is how rushed everything is. Yes - of course we want a show, but we want a show that does the game justice and that moves us in the way the game did. There's a few stand out moments where I want to feel the same exact emotion as I did when I played the game. Although it was incredibly rushed - Nora's moment ended up giving me that feeling which I appreciate - the problem I have is it happened waaaay too soon. There wasn't enough build up! I understand it's difficult to put 40+ hours of gameplay into a short series, but back in the day, shows had a MINIMUM of 8 episodes and good series would run 10 or 12+ a season! This is a show that deserves at LEAST 10 episodes to be able to feel the full emotions that the game was able to portray. Maybe if I were going into it blind without any expectations maybe I would've liked it more, but since I have played the game my biggest complaint with this show and this episode in particular was that it was just far too rushed and we lost a lot of the storyline and emotion that we should've been given sadly. I HIGHLY recommend watching TLOU2 walkthrough on YouT because it's going to be near impossible to meet the detail and impressiveness you get in the game - especially with such a short amount of episodes.

  • A disappointing, overambitious mess

This film had potential, but it ultimately fell flat. The movie was ambitious, but it didn't fully meet its expectations. The endless layers of universes became so convoluted that it was hard to keep up, making the story feel more exhausting than exciting.

One of the biggest disappointments for me was Wanda. She is one of my absolute favorite characters, and Elizabeth Olsen is an incredible actress in everything she does, so seeing her role in this movie felt frustrating. If handled correctly, it could have been as iconic as Jean Grey's transformation in X-Men, but instead, it just didn't hit the same way. Her arc felt rushed and lacking the emotional depth she deserved.

The special effects were another major letdown. For how advanced technology is, you'd think the effects would improve over time, but somehow, they keep getting worse. It was an overload of CGI and flashy animations that made everything feel cheap and cartoonish rather than immersive. This movie-and honestly, Marvel as a whole lately-feels more like a children's Disney series than the legendary Marvel Universe we fell in love with.

I miss the days of Iron Man, Captain America: The First Avenger, Thor, Hulk, and the Avengers movies. Those films had heart, weight, and a grounded feel despite their superhero nature. Now, everything feels goofy and over-the-top. If this movie wasn't part of the Marvel series, I never would have watched it. If I had randomly turned it on as a standalone film knowing nothing about Marvel, I would have stopped within the first ten minutes.

At this point, I can only hope that Marvel returns to its roots and starts making movies that feel powerful and timeless again. I watched this movie only for Wanda, and even she couldn't save it for me.

  • Zoe Saldana is too good for this movie! Desperately in need of a more concise storyline and a better ending

Absolutely in love with Zoe Saldana. To be honest, all the actors/actresses did a really great job in this film, but the issue isn't with the acting... the issues lie with the storyline. Things started off strong and caught my attention really quickly - An immigrant woman who is fleeing from her abuser only to come in contact with more abuse while trying to get over the border. She bonds with a young girl who gets separated from her mother and Zoe's character becomes protective over the girl. This movie had everything to be an amazing, highly recommended movie, but the lack of execution in the storyline was so disappointing! What happened? Where did they end up? Where are they now? The abrupt ending leaves you with such a long list of questions. I hate movies that leave the story unfinished or that leave the plot at the peak with no real ending which is sadly, exactly what happened in this movie. What could've been a solid 7-8 star rating plummeted to a 3-4 star rating due to the lack of ending and lack of answers.
