This movie is fantastic . It's masterfully woven jump scares and comedy into a dark and creepy atmospheric story that made me invested in the suspense right from the get go. Stellar performances from the entire cast and a hint of macabre make the movie very watchable and entertaining. It's supposed to be horror, not just a run of the mill mystery , suspend your disbelief for 2 hours and watch the movie purely for entertainment, don't be a couch detective expecting a story with a tidy little whodunit bow on top .
The storyline is very interesting and a lot could have been done with it , however this is the first of Shyamalan's movies where I didn't feel like there's a twist coming or an unexpected ending . The entire meat of the story is shoved into the second half , with the entire first half pretty much just setting the scene , without much else happening . A lot of seemingly "intelligent" moves are made by the main character but it seems like something any person with average intelligence would do.
While the movie was entertaining as a whole , it did feel as though it was made around Shyamalan's daughter's music , with the movie serving as a marketing tool .

I went to watch this movie , believing the hype and incredible marketing , assuming it was an erotic thriller with a revenge plot line . Boy was I wrong .
Nicole Kidman plays a sexually dissatisfied CEO, with a clearly checkered past. Her company hires a bunch of new interns , and one particular one catches her eye right from the get go , with him asking a provocative question at a meet and greet . She starts to slowly obsess over him and begins taking some morally wrong decisions , which ultimately lead to an absurd affair and the consequences of this affair is what the entire second half is supposed to be about .
You would think that a movie with an interesting premise like this could go one of many many thrilling ways . However , it chooses to go nowhere. The characters are both constantly making the same mistakes and have absolutely no growth or redemption arc, and you will be left wondering what the point of the movie even was.
