As a Norwegian, I felt like praising this film. I think it is appropriate, Norwegian film was both ridiculed and often poorly reviewed when I was growing up. There have been some exceptions over the years, but this one puts Norwegian film on the map!
In professional reviews of this film, it was written that all couples should see this film. I would add that it is for absolutely everyone, single or in a relationship.
The film is a close and intimate insight into a relationship that is slowly but surely unraveling. I think many people can identify with the conflicts we witness. This is about blaming other loved ones and blaming them for something that we should perhaps point the finger at ourselves. So the starting point for the film is a fairly young couple, who are struggling terribly. Then the film's main character is revealed and confronted with a different reality than the one she has been hiding behind herself. This phase of the film is incredibly strong and credible. I don't think I've ever seen any actors manage to convey such vulnerability on film before. That this film wasn't Norway's Oscar hope last year is a big mystery to me. But then it has certainly picked up many other film awards. So deserved.
A warm recommendation.

The enigmatic Greta Garbo...
Here is a new documentary that, with its title, attempts to find answers to where she went after her magnificent film career. The title is somewhat misleading. This documentary covers the entire journey Greta Gustavson aka Greta Garbo made from Sweden to Hollywood, highlights from her career and the reclusive life she lived after the floodlights were turned off. For those of us who know Greta Garbo and have seen/read about her before, nothing new comes out in this one. Nevertheless, the documentary is a must for film lovers. Greta Garbo is one of those figures who is always fascinating. The documentary has lots of clips of her both from film and otherwise.
Watch it if you want to have a reunion with a real film star who came from nothing and who conquered the whole world before she mysteriously withdrew from all publicity.

When I write user reviews here, I try to focus on which genre I'm going to review. In this case, one of several series about medical/specialist help for people who need different help. On the TLC channel, there are many different ones in this category. None of these captivate me, but Dr. Sandra Lee's TV series does. The main reason I like her approach, style and program is that she always explains to us viewers what she discovers. She talks about skin diseases, various cysts, lumps, rashes, keloids, etc. Etc. I have learned an incredible amount from hearing her talk, and seeing how she provides health care to people who really need assistance too. It could be argued that this is made for entertainment, that these people are in a situation where they agree to participate in a program and expose themselves completely. Maybe? But Sandra Lee's commitment, the good, warm way she welcomes these patients, at least appears to me as genuine and engaging. So I think this is both educational and entertaining. In its own way.
