Yep, this is that review.
Have you ever heard of movies where they say "The Best of the Best" were picked for space travel? Well, this isn't that movie. OMG, where to start. This movie begins with a failing Senator and his failures as a politician, but thoughtfully, how did he get chosen for the most critical voyage for humanity? It was beyond me. Then again, I was shocked that it wasn't an all white crew full of skinheads. Yep, it was that kind of movie, but they decided against it and went with a diverse cast. The writers and director should have been honest and gone with the racial cast, and it would have been more believable; I would have been on board. Why? Because once again, "It's that kind of movie." I am sorry, but I didn't write it, and if you get a chance to watch it, you will know exactly what I mean, especially the religious and God-like complex the leaders had and the unwavering followers. I honestly felt like I was in a 1970s JIMJONES revival, waiting for the Fruit punch to be passed around, with the poison in it at the end. Seriously, though, the movie was well-made, and they did spend a pretty penny on it. I really loved the camera work and sound effects; it was almost perfect. I think the aliens' sarcasm was on par and hilarious towards the end. I dont think there should be a remake only because there isn't anything you can do to make it any better. It's already the best it will ever be.

Like all Science Fiction films, it's all about imagination. Just sit back and enjoy the action. Try to look at the positive aspects of this movie. I like the Camera Angles! The sound department and special effects did a great job making me jump out of my seat. These are some scary Demons. Obviously, these are not highly evolved Extraterrestrials. I honestly do not believe that Extraterrestrials who can travel faster than light are highly developed and have been growing for half a million years, meaning they have left their original bodies and adopted a silicone-type body for long-distance space travel. This movie doesn't apply that philosophy; it focuses only on the horror and evil of communicating with aliens who act like our current, evolved selves. So far, I am at the beginning of this movie. I hope I am right about my assumptions; if not, this movie and the writers took a completely wrong turn. I really enjoy the actors in this movie; some are a bit over-the-top, while others are just perfect, like Robert Downey Jr. Overall, I am laughing and enjoying the movie altogether. It's 2025, and there aren't that many sci-fi movies out, and you can't be picky. I am just happy to have something.
I am a combat Veteran, a 4th-generation combat veteran. My family served in WW1, WW2, Vietnam, and the Gulf wars. My fathers trained and prepared their sons, and my father prepared and trained me to survive and to expect what was to come when I went to Boot Camp. Yeah, Boot Camp for me was a breeze because I went to ARMY JROTC for 4 years and graduated as Cadet Comand Seargent Major (Second Highest Honor In JROTC Next to Commander). I can tell you that some of this is a bit of a lie, and some of it is a bit watered down. I can also tell you that what TI's "Training Instructors" Are looking for in a soldier is one thing if you are going to get along! Are you a team player? When everyone else was pulling ahead and leaving people behind, I pulled back and took the rear to help those at the back move forward.
The Tis knew I was the fastest runner, the strongest soldier, and the best of them all because I always trained for that moment. They expected me to be in the front and take command of the Platoon, but I actually surprised them. I didn't want any part of that. I just wanted to follow and help the rest, making sure everyone passed the test because I knew I could make it, and I knew everyone else could too once they were sure of themselves... Guess what? They all did! They all graduated with me. Thats what a real soldier is! One of the mistakes they made in this TV show was the Depiction of the Gas chamber. It wasn't a room but a door room, locked and sealed behind us with real Mustard Gas. We had a vaccination before entering that chamber, which is mistake number two that they didn't show. In fact, I had over 40 Vaccinations that were injected in both arms before training, which was not shown in this TV show during the haircut scene. That was extremely important to show and would have provided more context to the entire show and future shows. The gas masks in the Gas Chamber were incomplete, missing the Round Filter that would be located on the right or left of the mask! They were the correct masks that were missing the Straw on the lower part, which usually leads to the canteen for water. You can sip water in your canteen while wearing the Gas mask. You can also use your canteen as a V-PoPouch, nd Combat Medics would use it on the battlefield for the wounded. Lastly, A gay person would have been detected at the MEPS station way before entering the military through blood examination. There is a blood examination they do where they check for chromosomal counts, and if you lack specific chromosomes, they will not allow you in the military, but women who do have these are allowed. This is why, during Bill Clinton's time, he said Dont ask, Dont tell." They eliminated that test because they were allowing women in, and if women could go in, then Men with feminine traits could go in as well. I was never afraid of Gay people! I am more fearful of Straight people with a prison mentality that feel they need to have sex with you to control you, even though they are not gay. Gay people are respectful and will respect your friendship and relationships. So yes, I would share a foxhole with a gay person any time because if He or She Passed Boot Camp, then that means they have my Back!
