All those who says they're worried about the multiverse, are not seeing the big picture. This movie is about setting the stage for what's next, and yes, the story is simple and is given away soon enough for those following the MCU, but ultimately it is clear it is about the buildup. The movie itself is good enough and have some unexpected emotional moments. The action scenes are great, and red Hulk is awesome in the big screen, he deserved more screen time. Seeing Sam as Captain America and struggling as HE, was great. 6.5 is good. I also think the supporting cast deserved indeed more screentime and character development, and hopefully they'll get it.
I can understand some of the critique while others I just feel they are hating. For one, since the movie links with the first one, then it becomes impossible to not compare, however, this is a new movie with a new story. Someone said Paul Mescal couldn't lead a herd of goats etc. Well, there was not attempt to make him Maximus, and himself made it clear he wasn't a soldier. Watching him acting, one can't help but love him, just because you have this person that is pure in heart in a world of evil. Connie Nielsen, I felt she was emotionless. Denzel went crazy, and Pedro Pascal is the new Maximus actually, the emperors blend.
Having grown in a country that endured 30 years of civil war and having witnessed some of it real life, and the actual impact it has - how it lingers - I have to say (unless is based on a book), the director really thinks a civil war is like any other war America fights. Good movie technically, and one amazing Kirsten's acting, her face tells the story of someone who actually knows civil war - back home we used to have a journalist just like her, once he was asked why you are always so serious on camera? His answer? Do you really think with all I report, I have a reason to smile? So, reality of a civil war? No!
