  • Incoherent

This movie is primarily action only, the theme is overly complicated and unrealistic. The backstory of the main character is useless in explaining why he is an asshole. The other characters didn't get to develop a story except the agent who is a mother. Even then, it was very weak.

The "package", was a great fighter but that's about all. The overuse of talking is annoying. The fight scene are good otherwise. There was no use of dramatic silence by the director or writer.

Finally, very underwhelming ending. Not even a consideration for a sequel because nothing was gained in the first place.

I am not a huge fan of documentaries with some liberties. But this was very well and respectfully done. The story immediately grabs you and does not sugar coat or let up. It doesn't matter if you already new the true story of Chernobyl or not. The news reporting could not have provide this depth. This is comprehensive and thoughtful and would complement a factual collage of news articles and videos.

The casting is superb. The reproduction of the plant and the environment are spot on. The writer wanted the viewer to see the emotional toll of this event. As an example the life of the firefighter's wife and the new soldier recruit.

We need to never forget what happened. It should never happen again. The cost is too great and this was as best as possible "contained" at great human cost.
