The characters started so well and the stories and even relationships were good. Then around season 2 or 3 it seemed Andi became a dingy person turning her back on aspects, being swishy washy, even letting a kid get kidnapped because she was being dingy. It made no sense that her character didn't grow as much as declined. By season 4 she is just annoying and a drama queen. It as bc a shame rte detective left after season 2 since he brought some maturity. Too bad Sam's character also never grew and never matured. It was like they needed relationship drama so they kept creating it while benching some of their better characters like Nash.
They visuals were great but they wrote the lamest and weak dialogues for such a visual movie. They could have used some editing or help to make the dialogue more meaningful since they obviously poured a ton of money into the movie. If they would gave made the dialogue better, then the characters would have been more likable and you might be able to ignore a very very basic and at times incoherent story plot. The actors did their best to try and make some bit of emotion in it but where 7 Samurai and all of its iterations succeeded in bringing emotion and life to the characters, this fell flat. I didn't bother either the blood soaked screw fest of the directors cut since all the shock value wasn't going to bring any added depth. It was mildly entertaining in a cold snowy day and very forgettable.
Reeves and Hollinger manage to educate and bring some innovators that have not been seen before to light while also maintaining a sense of humor, charisma and personal growth. They interact with the other innovators on a level that also gives them more charm. When alone, you can see the gun and cerebral relationship these two have while wondrously looking at all of the innovations. Cerebral yet fun. I love Keanus energy and childlike wonder when he is learning about the different things. Both of them are also very intelligent and put the people they are interviewing at ease. It is totally worth the watch!
