Gratuitous drag crap destroys the excellent work of superb actors and writing. Really, you CAN have a show that people like without adding abnormal sex crap. The characters in this show are developing nicely, the actors are really good, you easily believe they're who they're playing from Pete to the young players. They're good. The plot is good, captivating. But, really, the drag is a reflection of where we are politically, it doesn't fit, it's thrown in probably because the current government mandates it:Eighty nine more characters to fill when I have nothing more to say. 21 characters.654321.
So cliche! Nosy old rich lady who has a little hobby that the police honor. The actress and main character bug the heck out of me. The situations that would never work. Lawyer walking down the street and they're posted on the way as if they know where he'll go and which way, every detail of the planned fire. All take strangers to act exactly as they planned. It's so unrealistic. I'm guessing it's the husband of the Curtis woman given that her name is used everywhere, so it was probably him using her card. I guess I'm most annoyed by the leading actress. I liked her on Downton. The way she walks, thinks she's so cute, sneaks in and out of places that she'd never get by with-I don't like the fictional or real character.
In all fairness, I found the first season strangely funny. But, there has been a long time passing between the showing of the first and second season. I don't know what they're talking about and find the accents a bit hard to understand. The reason that I didn't stay around as I usually do with pbs (this is my third time lately of turning my Sunday night pbs line up off) because it's too gruesome. I don't know the plot line, can't understand the conversation all that well, but it's too gruesome. So, I pass. It must have been depressing shooting this thing. Good actors, though. Seventeen characters to go.
