A different approach on a superhero story, To Be Hero X is visually stunning and every story being told in a nonlinear fashion, makes it complex, yet very intriguing.
From the very first episode, it hooks you with storytelling that feels more like a masterfully written novel than a standard anime. The depth of the world building is breathtaking-layer after layer of rich detail, creative design, and emotional nuance unfold in ways that constantly surprise and reward the viewer. The narrative isn't afraid to be bold, blending humor, action, and drama seamlessly, while never losing sight of its emotional core.
To Be Hero X stands out as one of the most unique shows in recent years. The fan voting system, where viewers help shape the top 10 rankings, gives it an interactive twist you rarely see in anime-style productions. Every character arc was effectively written, except the Loli Arc, which I felt was underwhelming. The finale brings every piece of puzzle together to give a befitting end to Season 1.
Overall, To Be Hero X is a visually stunning take on a superhero story, that engages you with an amazing world building, character arcs and a beautiful nonlinear story.
My Rating : 7.5 / 10.

A psychological drama about an obsessive mother and the ways she goes to protect her son from his new girlfriend, this mini-series is a decent bingeable show that keeps you guessing what's coming next.
While the show has many logical flaws and sometimes the drama gets too irritating, Robin Wright and Olivia Cooke's toe-to-toe performance as baddies leans you towards them. The story was told well frrom both Laura (Wright) and Cherry's (Cooke) perspectives that it became a question who to empathize with and who should be treated as a villain.
The initial episodes were well-balanced, constantly pulling you back and forth, making you question every look, every word, every moment. While there were no big twists and revelations, the smaller things the character did to hurt each other were good enough.
The major fall of the show was with the last episode, with rushed and unexpected ending, a lot of logical flaws and inconsistencies in the narrative that made me surprised and annoyed.
Overall, The Girlfriend is a decent show to binge-watch but many inconsistencies and the ending pulls it from being a very good psychological drama.
My Rating: 3/5.

A sports drama based on Rugby, The Winning Try is an underdog, feel good inspiring story that relies on sentimental tropes.
A basic sports plot - a washed rugby star coaches a struggling school team. The drama focuses on resilience, teamwork and achieving your goals against the odds. The characters are well-written, although the political narrative is a bit annoying at times.
The highlight of the show is the layered character work and their struggles. Also, the protagonist's strength to go on and his bond with his students becomes a major strength of the show. There were many funny dialogues that worked well at times.
While the show doesn't dedicate itself just to the game of rugby, it explores themes of hardwork, politics behind sports and the courage to move forward. And while I say the plot was heavily predictable and cliché at times, it did felt good to see some optimistic drama.
Overall, The Winning Try is a compelling sports drama that depends on sentimental tropes and work effectively, if not absolutely.
My Rating : 3.5/5.
