This episode left me SOBBING. I am on very high antidepressants that mostly just dull my emotions and I have cried maybe a handful of times in that many years. I genuinely thought I wasn't capable of crying for the oast several years but this episode absolutely made me FEEL SO MUCH. I love this show! It is so funny and sweet and kind and relatable and makes me feel so seen.
I am desperately hoping they renew it for another season because it's such honest representation of autism without being so in your face kitschy and exploitative of making a show about autism. It's not the headline of the show because it doesn't need to be!!! Nina being autistic is just a part of it but it doesn't need to be the headline in the same way that her being a brunette while her sister is a redhead isn't the whole point! I love the representation and normalization of autism in this show wowie.

The mind of Mike Flanagan!!! Taking the Edgar Allen Poe story and turning it into this Tory of pharmaceutical greed and horror and FAMILY and UGH!!! It's truly amazing. All four of the actors who played Madeline and Usher all deserve all the awards.
I didn't want this to end ever. And every time I saw Carla Gugino onscreen i shrieked. She's so incredible and the aesthetic they chose for her is phenomenal.
I do think they kind of played themselves because the deaths were progressively less gory. Although maybe that was the point. But the first two (Perry and Camille) were the best and then every death afterwards I was like.... meh that was nothing comparatively.
But no. I wouldn't change anything. I'm so obsessed.
Absolutely love that they made Augustine Dupin gay too lol.
