  • Not a love story, but still a masterpiece.

"Anora" is an exceptional film that delivers on every level, from the amazing acting to the seamless editing. The cinematography is absolutely stunning, drawing you into every scene. I initially expected a classic love story, perhaps the "Cinderella" of our time, like it was promoted as. But I was pleasantly surprised to discover something entirely different. This is not a love story, far from it. This film is an exploration of usury, exploitation, opportunism, and classism. In many ways, it feels like Pretty Woman without the love or romance, but told with an extraordinary level of craft and depth. Truly a masterful piece of filmmaking. Bravo to all involved.

  • Art back in Cinema.

I'm baffled by the negative reception this incredible film has received. It's truly a remarkable piece of cinema. Joaquin Phoenix and Lady Gaga deliver performances that are nothing short of exceptional, and the cinematography is visually stunning. The camera movements and composition are also amazing, adding to the film's overall brilliance. The soundtrack and sound design are equally impressive.

A special praise goes to Todd Phillips for taking bold risks and reminding us what cinema should be-an art form. His direction takes us back to a time when films were crafted with passion, depth, and artistry. I find it hard to understand the criticism of the script-it's far from weak. The story is intricate, filled with depth and layers that demand attention. This is a film that will stand the test of time and serve as inspiration for future filmmakers.

  • A vanity project gone bad.

I'm not even sure if this film deserves a bad review or if it's better to just pretend I didn't endure this incredibly bad movie. Lola feels like the director decided to film the beat sheet instead of the actual script. The pacing is rushed, as if the goal was to get through the story quickly just to linger on longer close-up shots of Nicola Peltz Beckham's face. My initial thought was, "Does the director have a crush on Nicola?" Then I realized-she is the director, and also the writer. Suddenly, it all made sense. This film is nothing more than a vanity project, and it painfully shows.

I do have to compliment the Director of Photography.
