I didn't think this series could get any more childish, ridiculous and pathetic but I was absolutely wrong. Apparently the script was allowed to be provided by the same Saturday morning cartoon writers responsible for such epic greats as Donald Duck, Wile E. Coyote and the Road runner. The creators of this Mission Impossible let all common sense, physics and anything above a grade school level of maturity be tossed out the window.
I am not going to bore the reader with the details of the countless, artless, insipid, adolescent and always ridiculous ex machina plot line resolutions because they are just too blatantly obvious and numerous. However I will say the only real impossible of this movie is that anyone over ten year old could actually be capable of accepting any of the repeated nick of time, perfect timing accidents, the empty plot hole and characters, ridiculous human and technology capabilities, poor casting choices. I have never been so disappointed with a "M I" movie as this farce.

Stargate Atlantis is a pathetic low budget follower to the original Star Gate movie and series. Yes if you need a SG fix it's better than absolutely nothing but not by much.
Let's go over the basic issues-
The few appearances of any real actors are extremely limited, the few B and mostly C grade actors are poorly directed and out of their depth.
The dialog is weak, repetitive, insipid and childish. The story lines of the plots are simple, predictable and obvious copies of to many you've seen before.
Almost all of the costumes are direct from the used costume rental supply with things like pilgrim, World War One and two or from other Earths historical times. Most of the costumes are painfully low budget similar to the 60s Star Trek series.
Then there are the questions one must ask, like what were the show runners thinking?
1- why does everyone and every single alien on every planet in every single galaxy all speak American English?
2- who decided to add the ridiculous and silly sound affects in the vacuum of space.
3- why was some woman with some unknown doctorate, no pervious experience or military knowledge yet is given complete command over many others with obviously vastly stronger abilities.
There are more examples but too many to list in this limited place.
I and struggled to understand why and how this series got renewed until I finally realized who it was made for and that is primarily 11-15 year olds.
