I've just watched the movie and not sure how to feel about it. I was expecting a sweet conflict of family while being a road movie, but instead it was part documentary part movie. When you take such a sad part of history and put strange characters , i mean the two men, running around it, this all seems too shallow. Through out the movie i felt like it's undecided if the movie would be about holocaust or the story of those two men. The stories of men were also not stating or resolving anything. I made a connection with the movie because the characters actually reminded me of some people i know. I think the two characters and their story would be much better in a different background.
I've decided to watch this movie because i love romantic comedies and more importantly i'm learning Spanish. As i was trying to understand the language, the story didn't bother me. Actually this story had a great potential but seems like wasted. Bad acting and lack of chemistry is to blame, but not so terrible that makes you shut it in the middle. If you decide to wach it, don't take it so seriously and give it a go if you have nothing better to do, it's like a Hallmark movie more or less. But if you're after some fancy movie that you'd want to tell your friends about, you can just pass it. The story is actually funny.
I haven't read the books but the story was compelling so i gave this series a shot. First of all i wonder, am i the only one who found almost all the main characters a bit unlikable? It feels like only the Emperors and Demrezel is well built in the story, and the others are trying to be...something. Foundation part of the story doesn't really make you believe that they are the "heros" of the story. If you're into science fiction with good cgi and heavn't read the books, you might like this one either. But after reading the reviews of people who actually read the book, i've decided not to follow up but read the books instead which seem more cleverly created.
