This is some of the most amazing TV I have ever seen. How the actress who plays Saga didn't win every award going for this I don't understand. This is some of best acting that I have ever seen, and the rest of the cast is also superb. Everything about this series is absolutely superb, top quality TV and entertainment of the highest order!
I enjoyed this episode. Although the central idea has been used before - for instance in a wonderful French film called The City of Lost Children - this is a fresh take. The baddies and the monsters were very good, as were the guest cast and of course the Doctor.
What I have found most irksome before was the terrible writing for the companions now they've stopped being two-dimensional goofballs. Whether its the writing or the acting or both that has improved, I thought their interactions, their back stories, insights into their lives in this episode were excellent. I particularly liked Graham's performance: it was very moving
The background music also was very effective.
The episode also highlights a very important issue so I applaud the show for that.
Even after the well-meaning debacle of the last episode there is still hope for this Doctor!
