Sore starts off strong, the cinematography is striking, and the opening scenes build an intriguing sense of mystery. At first, we don't really know what's happening, which makes it engaging and keeps us curious. But once the story reveals its direction, it begins to feel repetitive. The concept itself is interesting, but the execution drags; some scenes move too slowly, and the film could have been tighter overall.
The dialogue is another weak point. Only a line or two carries real meaning, while the rest feels clichéd, boringly overused and uninspired, which takes away from the emotional impact. There are also noticeable plot holes. For instance, it's understandable if the film wants to use some magical element to explain Sore's time loop, but Jo's sudden intuition to change feels abrupt and unearned.
In the end, Sore has a good idea at its core and moments of visual beauty, but it suffers from uneven pacing, weak dialogue, and an underdeveloped story.
