I've now seen most of the most highly rated TV series (with the exception of a few golden oldies like, which are difficult to get hold of and can feel a bit like homework). In fact, beginning to worry I've exhausted all of the big series. Anyway, some serious spreadsheet action has gone into creating this list, so be reassured that every rank has been carefully thought through: Yes, it's true, I need a job. Series finales excluded, these are the episodes which not only did a good job wrapping up a great season of TV but also blew our minds in their own right.

Any series from any genre all in one place, just to make things impossible. These are the series I’d want with me on a desert island, not necessarily the ones I think of as the best based on artistic merit. For this list the series either has to be still airing as of the start of 2020 or has to have had its finale within the decade if it was running before 2010.
