This is odd and not in a good way. There's a cool vibe to it at times with cussing badness. It's mixed with corny humor and childlike conversation. I thought it was going to be cool but it's much more corny than fun or cool.
Sweet Tooth is the same, comes off like a bada** but then is goofy at times. Again, make a story for kids or make it with an edge for teens and adults. Director Kitao Sakurai needs to pick one or the other. He's not really catching the vibe of the video game either.
Like much of what I see these days, I find myself making excuses for the show until admitting to myself that it sucks and I have to quit. Twisted Metal is running out of excuses in two episodes.

Everyone is pulling their weight except for the villain and daughter.
The villain went to the Walmart school of acting. The writing for the bad guy is also lame.
The daughter's voice should be on an animated show. Her acting is laughable, especially with that hideous voice. As much as she walks around alone it's pretty obvious she is going to wind up abducted.
Hopefully the flashbacks are kept to a minimum because most shows get annoying when overdoing that.
I'll keep watching for now cause Raylon is Raylon. The story itself is a good one and has me intrigued.
I'm wrapping this up during Ep 2, 42 minutes in.

We love to hate her ya, but the show would be better without her. Some options could be that she is thrown out of a fast moving car by a disgruntled patient. Maybe a fast moving car could run over her? Maybe an old air conditioner falls on her from high above? Maybe 50 aggressive poodles mistake her for a chew toy.
I hope no BS about some kind of amazing enlightenment and she becomes a good person happens. If that happens, I hope it comes through a long arduous torture by serial killer. But then again, I really hope she is hospitalized long term, by doctor that is as big of a jerk as she is. :)
