Kelsey's performance was okay, but for Finn, this role seemed to be a bit too much. There was such a disconnect between him and his character. The acting was just meh, I didn't believe it for a second.
Predictable, low-budget, and sad movie with half of the dialogue being just sooooo bad. Some scenes feel super forced, with characters behaving in ways that just don't make sense: a kid "just wanting to say hello" to a random woman sitting in a car at a gas station... or the buddy-buddy heart-to-heart conversation with the old guy... Iris wearing a pink sweater still she's invisible... TWICE... Ants crawling on her face, and she has to scream instead of brushing them off, yet a minute later she's still able to move her arms. Come on...
And the cop? Maybe he should go back to the academy to learn to at least keep his hand on his gun.
Oh, and the fire in the window? Jeez, it's not that hard to make it realistic these days...
And the ending? Oh, boy... I'm sure someone in the crew said: "this is the catharsis".
Good for you, buddy. Good for you.

This is a great movie. At first, I was afraid it would be a Tim Burton copy-crazy and busy-but I was pleasantly surprised that the director and crew made it their own and developed their unique style. I really liked that the visuals were not overwhelming. I think they found the perfect balance to create a sophisticated magical world. I truly appreciated the little details and fine touches.
The cast was exceptional, right down to the last person. They all did an amazing job, and it felt like they really enjoyed being part of Wonka's world, making their roles believable. I found the quirkiness and jokes extremely entertaining; they were not cringey or clichéd but rather funny and joyful.
The movie had a great flow and balanced pace, keeping my attention until the end. The dialogues were authentic-great job on the screenplay. The music was wonderful too, with simple yet enjoyable and great musical pieces.
I might watch it again someday.
See, Hollywood? Sometimes less is more.

I was going to give up watching after 20 minutes of painful and boring scenes, but I gave it a chance, hoping it would get better. Well, it didn't. After 60 minutes, still not much had happened, other than pointless, forced conversations, unnecessary characters, and completely flat and unnecessary storylines. This whole movie is a dragged-out bore fest. I have no idea what happened to Tim Burton. Where was he? What happened with the screenwriters?
Jeffrey Jones was included, but he wasn't...No credit whatsoever, perhaps because of his legal troubles. Yet, they dared to create his animated version and put his picture on the tombstone. What a joke.
I didn't care about a single character.
Stars for Michael Keaton only.
