If you like the original movie, this is a must see. There are so many throw backs to the original. Is this going to win an Academy Award? Obviously not, but its a fun watch. I love that so many real golfers were involved and I loved John Daly. I like the mini SNL reunion. Don't take this movie too seriously and have fun.
I was skeptical but I had high hopes going in. IT'S SO GOOD!!! If you liked the original, you HAVE to see it. They do not try to remake Twister. This is its own movie and it has you in the edge of your seat from the get go.
There was a Q&A before our preview and the director was talking about one of the reasons he was hired was because he grew up on the Arkansas/Oklahoma line. He said he had an understanding of how deadly tornados are and the emotional impact the storms has on a community when hit. His experience showed!
They do a really good job of paying homage to the original film. Kate's white tank and khaki pants like Jo, Tyler's red Dodge like Bill, one of the guys drives a camper like Dusty, but they are their own characters.
The movie has a really good cast and I liked the diversity and all the different personalities.
