This is just a teen drama. Although I thought it was good, some lack of logic about what time travel is made this movie a little frustrating. How did Lucy fit into a timeline where she didn't exist? How did Lucy sign up for NASA in a timeline where she has no real identity and parents? And where did this time machine come from? Was Quinn so smart that he would get the materials to build it just to avenge a personal frustration? Okay, it's just a movie, but putting some logic into it is the least common sense we expect from a fictional story. Despite all this lack of sense, I thought it was an entertaining movie.
This series didn't really excite me at first, but as it went on it became surprisingly good, as it brings together good, lively stories, with a good touch of humor. The diversity of alien races is good and funny. The special effects do not disappoint, although they are not state-of-the-art - they are perfectly acceptable and there are no major flaws. The saga is well told and well directed. I particularly don't like episodes where the main characters are arrested or put in confrontation with other races, but it's part of acceptance. It's a shame there wasn't a sequel, because this series really captivated me to the point of wanting to see the main characters again.
This story is told as a search for help and hope. So well written and directed, Voyager brings us the idea of friendship and loyalty, and shows us how important these two characteristics are, for humans and aliens. So many difficult journeys, without ever giving up on finding the way home. And yes, the conclusion is epic and exciting. There's no way to say that this series is better than the other Star Trek series, but the story is certainly so well told that it makes me want to watch it again from time to time. Strong characters, like Captain Janeway and Seven of Nine, made this saga one of the best of all time, in my opinion.
