I loved "100 Boyfriends Mixtape (The Demo)" which is why I'm even more disappointed that this one is just straight up porn. No substance, no story worth telling, just very graphic pornography.
The scenes that aren't pornographic are meant to be funny, to me they were slightly amusing at best. I watched it until the end and I'm really not sure why.

So you're telling me that this was made in 2011 and it still included "professionals" that were actually surprised asexual people aren't mentally ill? Wow.
We have Lori Brotto from the University(!) of British Colombia who treats ace people like guinea pigs to experience on, Dan Savage (who doesn't understand pride OR asexuality in the slightest despite being an LGBTQ activist) and others who express their ignorance all along the 75 minutes.
Overall, I think it's a shame this documentary doesn't focus more on David's work / AVEN, on the slow inclusion of asexuals to the LGBTQA community and didn't give more voices to asexual people themselves.
While it does briefly address the fact that ace people can be straight, gay etc., it leaves out a lot of important information. While the first few minutes were promising, I'm left wondering who the target audience is.
"[...] they are only interested in being left alone." - Best quote and I feeling I can definitely relate to after watching this documentary.

A very personal look at queer history through Paul Oremland's lenses. I learned a lot about incidents and attacks on queer people I didn't know about.
The documentary shows that queer people are everywhere - in every job, every city and every single person has their own story. Oremland reflects a lot about his life, his choices, his sexuality and his relationships and does it in a very empathic way.
I think some of the thoughts of these gay men are still applicable to many younger queer people and while many things have gotten better since Oremland's youth, others haven't. The phenomenon of gay bars closing down is unfortunately also ongoing worldwide as to 2025.
