I have rewatched mission impossible 4-6 several times. Its great action scenes, Cruise puts his heart and soul on doing his action scenes. The humor etc its all always so great. My favourite ones are Ghost protocol and Fall out.
Ilsa, I have not cared that much about her character, beside for Hunt I only ever liked Benji ,agent Brandt and Luther
This one, part 7. Of course Cruise has as always put his heart and soul in it. But the editing have not done the scenes any justice.
I listened to the commentary by the editor and director ( my gawd also how terrible they are at commenting. There is an amazing driving off the cliff going on but they are talking about a damn old movie and its train whissle! Insanely bad movie commenting skills for sure) and they were so happy about it all. They for sure have become blind to their own work. They speak about "Yeah this has a different dynamic energy from Fall out etc": Yes its different energy alright, bad energy!
I hated how they edited the action scenes, the fighting scenes for example. When Hunt is fighting in Venice when Ilsa is fighting Gabriel. Like what the heck was that type of choppy editing?! They should have had nice long one take (or as close to one take as possible) action scenes! It was hard to even appreciate the fighting moves or even feel anything because it constantly moves back and forth between Hunt and Ilsa. I did not feel immersed, I felt, indifferent.
This was ongoing in all action scenes throughout the movie! Like Hunt is parachuting to the train but we can't feel much ave because it constantly cuts to other scenes. Even Hunts running scenes were edited so badly! Like he has running so many times in this movie and they messed it all up at everytime in the edits!
The editing did this movie dirty. It feels fragmented, sloppy and I just hate its "dynamic energy" as it feels rushed and crammed and, terrible. Not even the biggest stunt, Cruise driving off a cliff, not even that one was done well, editing was bad, just bad. We can't like hold our breaths in ave and follow his jumps etc because it constantly cuts to other scenes.
Compare it with Fall out and its beautiful editing, like the bathroom fight scene. The truck heist scene that one is gorgeous, the parachute scene, heck the helicopter scene. It all flow so beautifully.
This one feels, forced and I don't know just too much and too crammed and fragmented as said.
Also what have they done to Cruises face? Yes he is not getting any younger but all them fillers and botow, his normally so expressive facial mimics were so stiff and hard to notice. Too much fillers I am guessing.
I am disappointed but its still a great mission impossible adventure.

I don't know why de Armas is getting these bigger projects. She has a very sweet face but sorry she can't act! Her mimics are always so off and stiff but she still gets these roles. She probably have good "connections" thats why.
In this movie she is not convincing as an assassin. Yes she has been trained for the role that much is apparent, but it just gets boring to watch her! She is not talented enough to pull this type of very physical fight scenes movie.
Also I hate the Norman Reedus clickbait. He was in it for like 2 secs.
So this movie could have been much better with a better actress with talent for fight scenes and acting.

First of, the episodes are so long (sarcasm).
No but could the episodes be any shorter?! Its ridicolously short and only a few scenes before the episode is done. Very weird format.
I find the group the Murderbot is assigned to very very cringy. I don't care for them in any shape or form. They are just weird, repulsively cringy and just yikes in so many levels. I have read book 1 of Murderbot and they are not at all weird and cringy in the book!
I cant understand how the show creators was like, "lets make them into weirdo hippies".
Skarsgårds is carrying the whole of the show on his shoulders. Rest is just meaningless crap.
