  • Excellent!!!

"Something always turns up." Classic. For such a short story, one heck of a plot twist. One has to laugh at the end. Laughs of joy.

To live such a life, humble, yet cunning, prudent yet dangerous, or as the saying goes, 'nothing ventured, nothing gained'.

Not likely one may live such a life in the world today.

No mention of JESUS, religion, sex, curse words, nudity or violence.

Adrian Dunbar excels as always. Much like he did in 'Line of Duty'.

  • Beautifully sad

Stands tall with the book "All quiet on the Western Front". 1944, A classic with a great storyline, incredibly realistic scenes, fabulous acting and engaging language of men. Would watch it again.

Some cussing, not often but present. No nudity. Violence-war movie with battles and the results thereof. Little mention of religion, some but no Christian Great Commission-Plan of Salvation presented.

Anti-war movie without political correctness, just the realities and sadness of it all. A masterpiece must watch, especially for the young before they become draft age...male teenagers. A must watch for all of us who never served.

Situations of revealing the choices men must make knowing the sun will rise again on the next morn regardless. Thought provoking and heart tugging.

  • Excellent cast and dialogue

Film littered with top notch actors, too many to list here.

The dialogue excellent, from the non verbal language between father and son where little says a lot and the interaction between the officers/detectives and their frustration/focus on 'getting' the bad guy> just excellent, adds laughter to an intense serious film.

Mild cussing present best I recall. No nudity or sexual scenes. Strong violence present. No world view pushed on the viewer.

No mention of Jesus or redemption through faith. No church scenes.

Long movie yet so engaging the viewer will wish it was longer. A bit of a cliff hanger if you will at the end. A sequel with the same cast and writers worth watching if one produced.

Would definitely watch again. Really enjoyed the movie.
