I watched The Painter (2024) yesterday and, frankly, I'm already struggling to remember much about it - that's how forgettable it was. I went in hoping to enjoy it, even prepared to write a positive review. Unfortunately, it gave me very little to work with.
The acting felt phoned-in, especially from Jon Voight, who added nothing of value here. It came across like an end-of-career cash grab, not a meaningful performance. The writing was clunky, the dialogue flat, and the plot painfully predictable. I had a hard time staying focused throughout, which isn't a great sign for a film that's supposed to be a thriller.
I don't buy the glowing 10-star reviews either - they feel suspiciously fake, because there's just not enough substance here to justify that kind of praise.
I'm giving it 3 stars, and honestly, even that feels generous. Watch at your own risk.
It's been only 24 hours, and I can't remember half the 'details' from this film.
Hard Pass.

Holy moses, this was a horrible movie.
One of the worst things i've suffered in a long, long time.
I really can't say anything good about this. Nothing made sense. Everything seemed forced.
I just can't come up with another 366 characters to complete this 'review.'
I should have known it would be bad just from the description; but i was bored and it come up on autoplay on the hulu so i let it ride.
So silly of me to be lazy.
I really didn't pay close attention all the way through but i caught enough of the wooden dialog to last me a life time.
Do youself a big favor. Skip this and fine something else.

There is so much wrong with this movie, it's difficult to even bother.
Ridiculous script, horrible dialogue, terrible acting, childishly garbage "special": effects, ...
Boring from start to finish.
I think there was a concept of a story here but it was very poorly portrayed in this middle school film project.
0 out of 10 would be a kind score.
I cannot think of six hundred more characters to describe in writing how painful it was to sit through this film. Evening my dog hated it.
I watched for free on prime but I still want my money back.
I think I should boycott the advertisers
The robot reviews that have this a 10 should be banned.
