The type of humor that is used in this movie was so refreshing. I love dark comedies, and I love dark humor. I appreciated it even more because it was by no means a dark movie. It was incredible how they made such a lighthearted movie with such dark comedy. Think Secondhand Lions meets Forrest Gump, I know, it's worth it though. The main Character was so nonchalant it was endearing. His care free attitude was refreshing and easy to watch. The supporting cast is what really makes the movie for me though. I don't know who any of these actors are, but the casting Director did such a good job. They all melded so well together. They fed off each other's presence and they were able to share scenes extremely well with each other. It was very play-esque in that regard.

Having read some of the other reviews I will simply say, if you take this movie too seriously you've already lost the point. If you look for flaws you're bound to find them, however, it's such a fun movie. It's light, it's dark, and personally, just a funny movie.

The beginning was everything you wanted it to be. Had great pace, I truly can't say how well they intertwined story development with action. You felt for the characters and they did a good job developing each one. The special affects are great (we're not talking about a SYFY original here) but with a 2.5 million budget per episode it better be good, and the plot was as good as any other post apocalyptic story line.

Seasons 1-2 are up there with great TV shows, however, after season 2 you felt the grind of the same characters with the same issues and there were not enough fresh faces to keep it alive. The plot through season 3-4 is kept alive by TNT's desire to make more money and not much else. By the time season 5 rolls around you can tell that they knew they were going to be canceled so they try to wrap everything up in the final episodes (which they honestly should have only had 4 seasons with the fourth season being devoted to the climax)

I'm OK with the default post apocalyptic story lines, but what I'm not OK with is when you try to reuse the same ones multiple times throughout the series. There were some character conflicts that were kept alive for too long and Pope (after awhile) has to be one of the most annoying characters and Mason was pretty unbearable towards the end as well. Who really did well were the kids of the show. They acted extremely well, and you felt a youth like empathy for them.

I would honestly recommend this show, however, I would warn you, it's a marathon, on a track and much like a marathon on a track, you start off loving it, and towards the end everything starts looking the same and you don't even want to finish it but you've already gone this far so you might as well.

If you want to watch a 90 minute movie morph into a 3 hour movie with scenes it doesn't need, poorly developed characters and a cast that doesn't meld together well at all. (Samuel L Jackson did phenomenal and Kurt Russell had moments where he looked to be the right person for the part, where in the end, he simply wasn't. This is for you, oh, and Fanboys, you'll rave this is Just Tarantino" and "You just don't understand."

The dialogue was lacking, the entire time. There were a couple quotable lines, but for it being a 3 hour movie, it lacked. My favorite actor in the entire movie Walton Goggins is written much better in the FX TV series Justified, and I was disappointed with the sheer inability for Tarantino to bring this amazing actor, and maybe even character, to life.

The plot had legs, I mean, how can you go wrong with a 21st Century take on 10 Little Indians, but the big reveal is revealed far too early. The beginning took too long to develop, and when it did, it finished way to quickly, but somehow leaving an hour 'til the movie ends.

I love Tarantino, his work is some of the best in the business. However, this time, I feel, like he wrote past his reputation and we just need to call it as we see it. Tarantino dropped the ball, and with a 44 million budget he has(d) no excuses.
