Kinda upset that Netflix hid this gem from me for 4 years but hey better late than never!
This series had this modern nostalgic feel to it set in some off alternate universe, like what people in the 80's imagined now would be like and if maybe the Allies lost WW2...?
Emma Stone and Jonah Hill are two funny people who are not really funny in this series but their performance is wonderful, maybe for me it's remembering them together in Superbad and seeing them now, together, how much they have matured and changed, their is something about them, their on screen chemistry, seeing them play all these different versions of themselves that is really heart warming.
Meanwhile Sonoya Mizuno, Justin Theroux, and Sally Fields who I would expect to be the more serious characters are absolutely hilarious, their performances as these characters with these absurd dynamics was so comical to me I could have sat through another episode of just watching them unpack their baggage.
Expect the unexpected in this limited series.

Those leaving poor reviews saying the series is an advertisement or is bias against Asian countries I wonder if they actually watched the series?
I watched all four episodes in there entirety and found them to be interesting and worth watching.
As consumers I think it's good to question what we are spending our money on and how we are being influenced by billion dollar industries, not to mention how our governments are being influenced by these industries.
I personally will be putting a lot more thought into my purchases going forward.

The trailer got me- oooh look I like these actors in other things, this seems like it will be a fun watch. Nope, this film was a mess, like did no one involved in making the film sit down and actually watch it before it's release?
I really wanted to like this movie, but I didn't, it wasn't magical, it wasn't funny, it wasn't moving, it was boring.
