Over all the story was sweet and could have been better told without some of the off putting scenes involving some discusting and unnecessary nudity. The scenes added nothing to the story and the R rating it was given for those scenes only makes me question the motives behind the decision. Elba and Swinton both are such great actors and could have carried the movie with their acting alone. Outside of that, the typical problems that arise when someone is granted 3 wishes are warnings to the very cautious Alithea who at first is apposed to making any wish. After hearing of the Djinn's past, she is sure of her decision and makes her 1st wish. The way in which the wishes play out is a nice change to the normal way genie granting wishes story goes.
The movie was good but what I liked best was the emotional aspect that surrounded the loss of Black Panther (Boseman) outside of that, the plot surrounding Wakanda's enemy was kind of ridiculous. Even with the understanding that you must put your critical thinking aside for a few hours to enjoy the film. It is hard to believe that if the sad passing of Boseman had not happened, the movie would have been good with the Talokan as the main plot. His acting was great but as Marvel enemies go, this was one of the poorest executed. My rating of 7 is for the emotional aspect at the loss of the king of Wakanda, the rest of the movie would have gotten a 3 at best.
Save your time and bypass entirely or at least the middle hour of the film because it does zero to explain or make it better. One of the worse I've seen in a while. Some disturbing and vile scenes tossed in for shock value but only make the time wasted watching it more regretted.
