After sitting through so much dross, it was great to watch a gripping drama, with no action sequences, no body count, no gun play, no over acting, none of the usual things that seem to be in every show these days.
It's slow, brooding, sinister and shows how things are never as simple as often portrayed in modern films.
It's actually quite a treat to sit and immerse yourself in the main actors dilema.
The real acid test for this film, was that my other half stayed awake through the whole film, which is very, very unusual!
All credit to the small cast and the brilliant camerawork.
Its so rare for a film to better streaming drama series' these days, but this one does.

Seems to be a right mess of a movie. It doesn't have any central theme to hold it together. The storyline is disjointed. The 'plot', what there was of it, is weak.
It just stumbles from one set piece to another. Characters appear, for no real reason, never to re-appear.
There is no back story to explain the stiuation or current status or the types of zombies the main characters encounter.
There are a few homages to other non zombie films but these may just be accidental.
I really hoped this film would develop from the first 30 mins and build in terms of drama and horror but it didn't.
Fiennnes saves the day as the mad Doctor but at points I had to stifle a laugh of incredulity.
Such a shame as 28 days later is such a classic.
The film style, using iphones, made the picture quality poor in my opinion, rather than arty. Obviously just a gimmick.
So, yet again, another sequal that should have been canned.

I assume this was supposed to copy an old school chinese gangster flic of Chow Yun Fat / Beat Takeshi from the 80's...
But sadly missies by miles, much like all a bad guys machine guns seem to do. I mean everyone has bottomless magazines, to the point of hilarity but even at 10 yards manage to miss all of the good guys.
At one point a girl fires maybe 500 rounds out of machine pistol at a car and makes three holes in the windsheild.
So ultra silly gun stuff aside, we have the video game quality CGI scenes. Almost every scene is poor quality CGI. Car chases, background city scapes, trainlines, everything looks off. I guess the budget was microscopic.
Plot - well there isn't one. It's just bonkers clichéd 'action' scenes, including the obligatory nightclub scene.
Body count is equally ridiculous, at times there are actually waves of bad guys arriving, all unarmed for some reason, that get mown down by someone waving a full auto in their general direction.
Tom is Tom but with very little charisma.
It's really, really hard to find one redeeming feature of this dross.
If it took itself less serious, might have worked. It can't be veiwed as a serious film because its too ridiculous.
Its a shame as it has a good cast...
