A fine film detailing the lives of three soldiers when they go home after WW2. The film is technically sound, and also has very touching performances from the main cast.
My only gripe about the film is it's portrayal of women. Obviously I wasn't alive around the time this film came out but it's portrayal of women didn't feel realistic to me. It shows women as angelic house maids who are at their happiest when taking care of drunk men.
The women literally do everything for men. There's only one female character who has a hint of realism and that's Marry Derry. Marry has wants and needs of your own. She has real urgency and it's not surprising that is portrayed in a negative light in a film of this period.

I expected a lot from the season finale and I was a bit disappointed. Make no mistake this was a good episode but it shouldn't have been a finale. It felt like a good set up of things to come.
We had very powerful moments and great acting. The final scene with Rhaenyra and Alicent. The scene with lord Corlys and his illegitimate son Alyn are highlights of the episode. As well as Daemon finally coming to his senses.
Seems like everything is shaping up and coming together very nicely for Rhaenyra but this is A Song Of Ice and Fire we're talking about and nothing ever goes down smoothly and as we want.
The saddest thing is that we now have to wait for season 3. But I guess all of us GRRM fans are used to that by now.
