Colin Farrell is not a particularly great actor. Is his star power name big enough to justify casting him? Why cast Farrell as an overweight balding Italian-American New Yorker mafia hoodlum? I'm pretty certain there are a million who actors could have fit that role. But no. Farrell in a ton of rubber & make up giving him a total of two facial expressions, which given he's only a middling actor anyway isn't helpful.

And the Penguin character himself is terrible. Are we supposed to believe that this bumbling haphazard doorman-at-best character will turn into some criminal mastermind? Nah.

Demote The Penguin character to club doorman, promote Sofia Falcone to headliner & this could have been a great show.
