Think about it.
The timing of the release of this movie ought to be fortuitous, I fear it will be torpedoed - as I see a trend in so many mainstream media reviews. Like 300, like 13 Hours - I see there are concepts in this story that have to raise bile in the mouths of "Liberals" ... and I understand that Newton Knight and his company are the villains in the Family History of others - who are also my fellow Americans.
I'm a Killgore, and one "L" or two, there are White Kilgore's, there are Black Kilgore's, and I don't mean to draw lines but intend to stretch out my arms ... because of our Revolution, because of Slavery, and our Civil War and Emancipation and Reconstruction - people who are connected whether they know it or not, whether some like it or not, we are connected and always will be. Another part of my genealogy is Hayes, as in Rutherford B. Hayes, 19th President of my country (look him up.) James Kilgore of the S.L.A. is part of the family too, we're the same generation - just VERY different, but I'm mindful we come from the same place.
This film is a much needed reminder of WHY our Bill of Rights HAD to include the Second Amendment, and that WE need to keep it today and ALWAYS. The millions of Americans supporting Black Lives Matter and/or Senator Sanders for President ought to swoon over this movie - but will the truth that the Freedmen voted Republican cause heads to spin ?
Put this film together with Spielberg's LINCOLN and Zwick's GLORY, and remember Juneteenth !

This film is short and clearly it's budget was constricted, but I appreciate the intent - few who are at polar opposites to Al Gore and the likes of the Clooney's or Kate Beckinsale ever get a chance to drive what's on the Big Screen. One could say this film is a sort of "opera", it's far easier to connect with when you already know what to expect - and in that sense Heavin and Norris actually score "OK" by my reckoning - this is a synthesis of many books that inform and alarm (One Second After, the Patriots and Survivors series, etc.) Will the people who shied away from 13 Hours come to watch this movie, of course not ! The Dog Whistles that also drove the mainstream of Hollywood to disdain the 300 movie for its values are certainly working overtime against AmeriGeddon.
On the plus side, it's shorter than the re-make of Red Dawn.
I would get the US troops helmets, and remember that "the brig" is a term of the Navy and Marines.
IMHO the title is terrible ... and yes the climax is like an episode of the A-Team. On the other hand this could be a good double-feature with Invasion USA ...
