Nothing that hasn't already been done before. It's watchable and the acting isn't horrible. Marin Ireland is awesome as always, but the Boogeyman monster itself is really lame and badly done CGI. Nothing creepy about it aside from it being able to mimic voices. The film had Babadook potential if the monster hadn't looked like something from an alien film. It doesn't like light which is never explained nor is it explained where it originated from. There's no backstory other than it likes killing children and then eventually their parents. Lots of plot holes and things that don't make sense. Doesn't really pay off in the end. I wouldn't watch it again, but I'm not mad I paid $5 to stream it while bored. I am at least interested in reading Stephen King's short story that it is based on, I would be willing to bet it's much better.
