Arcane is an absolute master-class of animation, storytelling, character design, dialogue, fight scene choreography, philosophy and emotion. I have never in my entire life come across something so multi-layered, well executed, compelling and captivating. Season 1 just grabs you from the first episode and doesn't let go until the end and I had little hope that Season 2 could possibly be any better but was I so wrong... This is an artwork for the ages in my opinion and deserves all the awards it can possibly qualify for!
I have not played or even seen reviews of the game it is based on, by the end it becomes apparent which character is which in terms of probable game mechanics, but it all stands so good by itself that you need not know anything about gaming to be able to enjoy it.
There is also plenty of modern mature themes, diversity and relationship interests intertwined in the story but it never feels forced or unnatural. Way to go to the entire team, Disney writers should learn from this.
In three words - I'm in awe!

As others have pointed out this show has a lot going for it - lighting, original obstacle courses, great cars and genuine semi-professional drivers who give their best and push their cars to the limit.
There are also unexpected twists and mishaps that keep the show interesting to the very end. It didn't feel biased to me - simply the mix of drivers was all over the place with some bordering Ken Block-ish levels of control while others driving like my uncle after 5 rakias (or whiskies).
However - the commentary and dramatization a-la "Deadliest catch" or "Orange county customs" detract a lot of value from this show. This typical American dumbing-down of the content is not really doing them any service.
They could have excelled by showing us more of the technical stuff about the cars, how they were built or some performance analysis instead. And yes they could have definitely chosen their slow-mo shots better as someone else commented before me.
Well worth the watch though and I do hope they read the comments here for Season 2 :)
