I'm a huge fan of Father Brown and especially this series. Always a treat. My wife and I wait patiently for the debut of the new season.
This particular season has not been a treat. The majority of the episodes have dealt with a play, a radio show, a dance off, or some other annoying British fetish. I get it, Brits like to dress and play Bennie Hill, or romp around the stage doing vaudeville.
My other complaint involving Brenda and her penchant for criminal behavior, gutter language, and over the top acting. This complaint has been pleasantly rectified. Brenda is a pleasure now. Without doubt I miss Mrs. McCarthy and some of the oldies, but time marches on.
Do me a favor and let's do a little more village shenanigans and less starstruck.

I'm trolling through PRIME and ITUNES on Sunday afternoon for a good horror movie. Slim pickins' for sure. Our threshold is low. We'll watch a two- or three-star movie if it feels like fun. Then all of a sudden, we come upon the trailer for Totally Killer. Recognizable actors, good production value, great trailer. How could we go wrong? And in fact, we couldn't.
This movie was a complete pleasure to watch. The acting was top-notch, including every single person in the cast. Even the mean girls were fun and had hidden depths. The lead, Kiernan Shipka, was a pleasure. I had never seen her before and maybe never again, but she was great in this movie.
Best of all, I liked the ending. Made for a very happy Sunday afternoon.
