I got six episodes into this show (based on all the hype) and gave up. Donny is the shallowest, least sympathetic character I've seen in a while, and if the objective of the show was that we support him, in my opinion, he absolutely deserves pretty much everything he got (except for episode 4), through a series of ill-thought decisions, parasitic intentions, self-pity and serial lying... he never gives a thought to the people his actions impact (Teri, Emily, her mum, his parents) and is just shamelessly selfish throughout the show. Kudos to the show on its representation credentials, but honestly, as Donny says "his lust for success" was his own self-destructive downfall...
So Amazon Prime must've got a bumper deal on a job-lot of very cheap but absolutely awful British movies because this is the second one I've watched in a row and I really wish I hadn't.
In the first scene we watch someone turn off an obviously mechanical bell alarm clock which has been dubbed with an electronic alarm, and the film doesn't get any better... As with The Conspiracy of Dark Falls, this film proves that not all British directors are Ridley-Scott. Acting awful, editing awful, sound awful, script painful... it makes you want to stop buying lottery tickets if you thought that films like this got public funding...

Wow... just wow! Could acting genuinely be worse that this. It's just awful! I'm pretty certain everyone just read their dialogue rather than learn it, and as a result there was just no space for emotion, changing the pitch of the voice, facial expressions - just nothing!
The filming and editing are actually not bad (no worse than anything on TV) it's just the acting - it's so awful. Please tell me the cast have been put on a watchlist as a safety measure for society.
The story has all the originality, and whilst I won't give spoilers, I do feel a community service is being delivered if I stop you wasting your on this very predictable and mediocre garbage!
