This movie is one of my favorites. At the time I had first seen this, I had already been going through a lot of challenges in my life. When I saw this, I suddenly had to admit that this kind of cleared things in my life, it made me feel less depressed, and as a result, it gave me a rather unique taste in movies. This was scary but more like suspenseful/dramatic/depressing, especially towards the end. I had actually heard about this all the way back in 2012 when it was first coming out but I never actually saw it, except for the trailer. Years passed and I forgot about it completely. Last year, I went and found this, and realized it was worth the wait of 4 years after all.
I enjoyed this movie this movie for one reason: it literally reminds me of The Shining. On the other hand, it also reminds me of Never Open The Door, and yes that movie. Look it up. I am sure all of you have heard of that one as it came out the year after this one. 10/10 This was awesome despite how terrible most people said it was.
This movie wasn't bad at all. What I do not understand is why so many people dislike or hate this movie. I can understand if it is certain scenes with acting that doesn't hold up in the right way or if it because the writing in this movie is incoherent. Again, why hate this movie at all? I enjoyed this movie particularly because the stepdaughter in this movie goes out of her way to kill people and to do whatever harmful idea that comes into her mind.
