The overall movie is a disjointed concoction that delivers nothing and works for no one, except perhaps for the writer.
The movie's story does not serve those who want to believe this movie is about religious faith.
And certainly this movie does not serve those who want to think this is good science fiction movie.
It is neither of those, though the writer is trying to weave those ideas together, and fails.
The comedy in this movie is amusing, and smart in some spots. Had the writer woven more comedy into this movie and story, he may have had a minor success by using comedy as a vehicle to ask the audience to consider the religious and personal ideas of this movie's story.
I've seen this movie for a third time now, and I'm rate it the same as the first time and second time. It has not improved with age, because the base ingredients were not good to begin with.

There was no reason to make this movie, not even so that Rob Zombie could entertain himself cause he had nothing better to do.
The "acting" in this movie is not even B movie level.
The main character/s have no acting chops, none, zero.
Rob's wife has a bit of talent, but unfortunately what little she has was wasted by her husband's want to make this ridiculously stupid movie.
This movie has managed to unseat the worst and most pointless movie every made.
That movie is/was "Killdozer".
This ridiculous waste of time and money now reigns as the worst and most pointless movie ever made.
