Really good fast paced show with excellent script, direction and acting, but for Brian Gleeson. He is terribly miscast and that accent!? Aaaargh! The only weak link in an otherwise wonderful cast and fast moving, original story. The early episodes are timed to an enjoyable length without dragging, however the last couple of episodes seem to become a little confused and go on too long. It's almost as if they didn't know how to finish it. Like a lot of these series, the make too many episodes. But generally a good show and recommended.
Expecting a good entertaining movie, particularly as most of what Jason Statham is in is good BUT... what was he and everyone else involved in this dreadfully acted, directed and written movie thinking? Lord spare us! This is dreadful. How it rated a 6+ is beyond me but save your time and give this a miss. Terrible!
After reading the book, was really looking forward to seeing the production of this compelling story. I understand that movies and series rarely live up to or measure up to the novel, but this is a real let down. Not sure whether it is the ordinary (over) acting, the screenplay and or the directing, but this is B Grade at best. Sorry to say that, as there are some quite well known and good actors involved in the series. On a positive, the scenery is great! And why in Australian productions do they (nearly) always portray the police as halfwits? Thespian theatrical bias showing? It lets down productions time and time again. Disappointing, unfortunately. Could have and should have been so much better.
