  • Was ready to hate it, but I really enjoyed it

I will be honest.. I was not looking forward to this. Infact, I stalled for months before I decided to pick this up again. The ending of the original TV series was something that never sat right with me for YEARS. I swallowed that distate somehow and Dexter continues to remain a beloved favourite of mine. However, the ending left such a sour note in my mouth, I was ready to hate New Blood before I even began it. And the season finale again had me at odds with the writers. Which brings us full circle to Original Sin. The mere face of the younger Dexter annoyed me, I didnt find him at all appealing as my favourite serial murderer. Yet... from the first episode onwards, I was forced to change my mind.

Let me start with Patrick Gibson himself. He grew on me from the first episode itself. His clearly must have STUDIED Michael C Hall's interpretation in the original series because Patrick Gibson simply transforms himself into Dexter with such ease, you forget he isnt Michael himself. From his perfect voice modulation, to awkward human mannerism, to vacant expressions that just barely conceal our Dark Passenger underneath. He was an incredible casting choice. Even his voice is incredibly close to the original.

The show has some incredible and surprisingly good casting choices. Infact, the casting choices are eerily accurate. From Deb to Masuka to Batista to LaGuerta, its amazing. The resemblance is astounding.

The show itself is carefully written, with just enough hints and foreshadowing to please the fans of the original series. The opening credits are equally pleasing and makes one happy recalling the differences but similarities to the original series' opening award-winning sequence.

I actually forgive the writers everything. I can not wait for Season 2 of Original Sin.

  • Speechless.

Very rarely does Indian cinema make me proud. Rarer still for Indian Television. I can count on one hand instances where I have recommended Indian movies or TV shows to friends of other nationalities.

After watching Railway Men, I have now informed Philipinoes, Pakistanis, Americans, Britishers and our own countrymen of this show. Railway Men has left me in awe and silenced my thoughts that Indian cinema is dead. Infact, I was left speechless.

While we nearly always expect amazing things from KK and Madhavan, being he veterans that they are, it was Bilal Khan who blew me away in this. The show is quite reminiscent of Chernobyl, I can almost say this was India's response to Chernobyl, even down to the production value, soundtrack, and not to mention the constant sense of foreboding.

This might be one of the best things in recent years to be produced in India, I will never not recommend this show.

9/10. More of such quality TV shows from India please.

  • Charming romantic comedy from the early 90s

One of the more unknown romantic comedies of the early 90s, and its a charmer. Al Pacino is charming and insistent as Johnny and Michelle Pfeiffer is as always, stunning and closed off to Johnny's approaches. It is one of those movies that confirm why the movies of the 90s have that particular charm that you will never find in more recent movies. There is a spontaneity to the acting and the characters, a sort of ad-libbing that makes the movie so charming and lovable. This magic that Garry Marshall brings to his film can also be seen in Pretty Woman and Princess Diaries. The comedic timing is insanely good and often catches you by surprise.

    I enjoyed this one thoroughly.
