This is a stupid, cheesy, early 2000s horror but that's part of what makes it so fun. Not a single brain cell was in action while I watched this movie and I appreciate that. Matthew Lillard is very Matthew Lillard which really makes the movie and there are some cool but also dumb ghost design and the thinnest lore imaginable. I'll probably watch it again when I want another hiatus from thinking.
... And I willingly watch Tubi original found footage films.
I love the original Nosferatu and I can see in the, to be fair, very beautiful cinematography, efforts to recreate/reference the German expressionism embodied by the original. But ohhh my gosh this thing just goes on forever.
Did the director take pacing notes from Peter Jackson's King Kong?
Did the editor go on holiday halfway through working on this movie?
Despite the best efforts of a stellar cast of actors this movie fell flat. It felt like the only things it committed to was dragging scenes on for way too long and dragging Lily Rose Depp's hair as far back off her forehead as possible.
Save your money- watch the original silent film on YouTube for free 👍🏻

I absolutely loved this cheesefest of a movie. If you're a fan of cheesy 80s Horror films, the physical affects, paper thin plot, and star actor reunion aspects of this film will be right up your alley!
If you're looking for some sort of deep analysis of society, online culture, the nature of privacy, and the depravity of desensitized humans, this is not the place to go. Here lie fantastic physical effects, ridiculous over the top deaths, and every trope your nostalgic little heart could desire.
Special shout out to Jeffrey Combs for being Jeffrey Combs, and definitely enjoy an the journey cameo's from 'the guy from that thing!' and 'what's her name g from all those movies.
Don't think to much about this one. Just enjoy the ride.
