This is an experimental film using classic non-traditional techniques like jump cutting, delayed or non-screen dialogue and out of focus/refocusing. Please keep that in mind when you watch this. It's also an actor showcase movie, all in one setting and leveraging the talents of James Mcavoy.
I actually really enjoyed it mostly for the plot being buried in the dialogue pieces and the acting. So many reviews on here are just basic film goers that were expecting some linear/cohesive plot when there isn't one.
I like when filmmakers take chances and when big name actors give indie films their time and effort. If you want to watch something normal and straightforward, don't watch this one. If you enjoy art films and experimental filmmaking or are an artist yourself, you'll probably enjoy it! 6.2/10.

This is a super slow burn with a long path down a very dark tone/theme about trauma. It's not the original and they shouldn't have used the title honestly, because this shouldn't be compared to it - because it's completely different!
The plot and writing isn't really the reason to watch this, it's the acting between the 2 primary leads. If I taught acting I would make my students watch this. Most folks don't realize that some films have a skeleton (bare bones) plot and it's truly a device for 2 lead female actors to hit homeruns so you can just enjoy that.
The plot has been done before, but to me I really just liked to watch 2 insanely talented actors go back and forth. Most folks focus on how engaging the plot and writing are, but forget about the acting component. That's why this is a 6/10. Focus on the acting guys...and enjoy!

This movie actually had some good acting from the lead lady Lark. She's got a bright future ahead of her! Besides that though, I feel like this was filmed in pieces and they hoped they could tie together a story, but it really ends up being a long mess.
The plot is pretty simple, bad guy...evil guy who they discover is a murderer (happens very early on), but even that part is confusing. There's just too many random scenes and things that happen that ruin the continuity, although you can basically understand what's going on. It's entertaining though for some odd reason. Like I was watching it while also laughing at some of the bad scenes. That's why it's a 5/10 and not 1. And the lark chick, she's gonna be a great actor! Already is.
