An excellent episode which raised all sorts of of questions about what is reality. The doctor's thought processes in trying to establish what reality he is part of, resemble the stages in Descartes' arguments to prove whether or not he existed (as a basis for knowledge) in his 'Discourse on the Method' which ended with his famous conclusion 'I think therefore I am'!! As well as being a very thoughtful episode, there are touching moments with Kes, making it a thoroughly enjoyable piece of television!
It is rare to find a remake that is better than the original but Channel 5 have clearly achieved this! My expectations were not high given that Channel 5 is not noted for high quality drama but this series is of the highest standard. Great script that puts real and natural storylines above melodrama and cheap emotions. Brilliant acting that out-performs the original cast and beautifully filmed in the lovely countryside. So well done Channel 5 and look forward to series 2!!
This is an enjoyable film which has echoes of Hitccock but lacks the master's class. It also has similarities to the later Stanley Donen film 'Charade' (1963). The plot can be a bit frenetic and confusing at times but there are some good comic moments. The heroine is completely oblivious to danger and needs James Mason to save her on numerous occasions but overall it is fun to watch.
