This would be a gorgeous fairytale for those who already seen Guest from the Future. Another Alisa's space adventure and a great gift for Natalya Guseva fans. Vyacheslav Nevinny former space pirate this time plays Gromozeka. Exciting family movie mostly for younger ages with an original idea of why wars and struggle among humans exist. Maybe some of visual effects look questionable and outdated but I enjoyed actors, music and the storyline. Kir Bulychev created Alisa - the most attractive science fiction character for children in USSR. The stories of Alisa are published as books. Enjoyable film can be recommended for family viewing
I saw this film in the cinema theater in my country in 1990 and was so amazed by this science fiction movie so I came to watch it again and again. Flight of the Navigator was not the first movie about traveling in time but arguably was the first to visualize UFO spaceship and hyperspace in a high-quality image. Also the idea that UFO can travel not only in space but in time looked pretty fresh. If you were a part of late 1980-s / early 1990-s you probably remember the interest to all this UFO and paranormal stuff and Flight of the Navigator hit those targets. The film is a family oriented movie made by Disney so anyone can watch it with a big pleasure
Everything what is connected to the science fiction of Alexander Belyaev is almost perfect. I'm still a big fan of his eternal masterpieces and they start from Amphibian Man. I also recommend you to read Jump into the Void inspired by the upcoming Space era and exploration of the Venus. The movie Amphibian Man is surely one of the best among Soviet science fiction films starting beautiful Anastasiya Vertinskaya. The sun, the sea and an exciting storyline. Both the film and the book reached enormous attention in USSR and Vertinskaya and Korenev became a real superstars and well remembered for such a romantic duet
