This is a well made movie and Survival movies give sense of adventure and experience of place. That alone in this movie makes it rate higher than average. Acting is good, directing, cutting, even a good song in it make it rank higher than 4 or 2.9. Give it a try and u won't be dis-appointed in the scenery. Set in the wilds of Mt. Whitney early in the season before it's crowded with people and sets the scene of a horrific time running into psychopathic nomads. Plus the lead actresss is a beauty. Her blonde hair shining like rays of sunlight, piercing cool blue eyes, a thick bottom and put together like a woman. Really tho, the rest of the movie is great and I wish there were more movies like this. Out in the wild in real places that most of us hav'nt seen, but dream of seeing someday.
I really liked the song in the middle of the movie. It's haunting and kind of psychedelic and also fits the movie and adds to the overall feel. These types of horrors r the real horrors that anyone can go through and it always makes it more shocking and scary to see stuff like this and be reminded that thus could possibly happen and what would you do in thus situation.

Movies I see rated so poorly that I watch only to find out they are masterpiece films, or at least alot smarter then what most people take them for and deserving a much higher rating. Borgman is such, alot of the movie cannot be taken at face value. Like for instance the beginning and the characters living underground. Well they are living underground, but not for the simple fact of doing so. If you look at it as an analogy of them sleeping peacefully underground, being rousted by a group of men including a priest no less only to be awakened from thier underground slumber to proceeding in killing every other person they come across throughout the movie. In killing everyone, but not in a horrific way, but almost as if it happened naturally to keeping with where the main characters were headed. That and the quote at the very beginning "And they descended upon the earth to strengthen their ranks." puts you in a mindset of demon, good and bad, ect. as the quote comes from the bible.
Many more analogies through the movie probablly left alot feeling lost and wondering what they just watched, but if you are into smart thoughtful movies, movies where one thing can mean something else, then this is a great movie. Maybe not a masterpiece, but once again ranked so low, that I feel I have to give this movie credit and if someone gives it a chance and think about things in the movie I'm sure it would be rated higher and deserves to be. I gave it a 9 as at times things could've been explained a little (like the marks on the back). Even so I'll draw my own conclusion to why they did that and I think the maker wanted everyone to do just that. Give Borgman a try, it's def better than 6.8.
