Ugh...how on earth is a new vampire able to take down an experienced vampire? And that ending with the boys helping Chandra made absolutely no sense. Almost as if it was written to appease the male audience. It was a huge turnoff for me. But the flashback scenes were amazing, gave more weight to Chandra. And gave me goosebumps.
"Bun Butter Jam" had potential, but unfortunately, it fails spectacularly in its portrayal of women. The writing leans heavily on outdated stereotypes, reducing female characters to one-dimensional props with little agency or depth. What's worse is how the movie normalizes casual sexism under the guise of comedy, making it uncomfortable rather than entertaining.
It feels like the filmmakers didn't bother to evolve beyond regressive tropes, and the result is a story that alienates half its audience. In a time when cinema is expected to be more thoughtful and inclusive, this movie is a glaring step backward.
Unless you enjoy tone-deaf narratives and misogynistic undertones, I'd recommend skipping this one.

I totally loved the movie. Sivakarthikeyan nailed it, action + emotion both worked so well. Anirudh's bgm was fire and Rukmini fit the role perfectly. Murugadoss gave us a proper mass + emotion mix, I enjoyed every bit. For me, it's a solid hit. Siva's movies are always entertaining so we can blindly go to the theatre for his movies. Man Madharasi was sooooo good. My mom, who doesn't like action usually, said she liked this film. That's how well made it is. There were two messages that made me tear up. I'll avoid adding spoilers. Also, the villain(s) has weight and every character has a meaning unlike recent movies. Madharasi is actually my favourite Tamil movie in recent years as I could personally relate a couple of times.
