Vasan Bala is huge fan of Bachchan & there are Bachchan ester eggs throughout the movie!!
Alia's character is vaguely based on iconic Bachchan angry young man characters. The movie is strongly uplifted by BGM.(Always a forte for Vasan Bala films). Cinematography is good. The colour frames lit up big screen. First half is good. Builds up Alia's character.2nd half is bit streched but climax lives up to expectations. (Even climax could have been 5-7 minutes shorter.)
Somehow it's missing the thrill of Monica oh my Darling benchmark. It's Prison break+ emotions+ Bachchan movie without Bachchan himself!!
Overall a good movie!

#Qala feels more like a lost opportunity.
The screenplay is not convincing at multiple places. Himachali people wearing black when Jagan dies is absurd. Looks like director's forced attempt to have black & white (snow) to make frame aesthetic.
Nevertheless, The snow setting adds to beauty of frames. Cinematography by Siddharth Diwan needs special applause.
Music is already topping charts. Amit Trivedi's best work in years. BGM is good. Sets are good but are not well researched. Director could have explored dark side of Qala with some more details.
Overall if you have patience & love for music you can sit through Qala!

Nikhil Mahajan proves yet again (after Pune 52) why he is master of storytelling. The pain just so beautiful!! Cinematography is apt ,each frame has own beauty.
Jitendra Joshi,Vikram Gokhale,Neena Kulakarni,Sanjay Mone all are in sublime form.
The set pieces are surely gonna make you immerse in the depth. I was spellbound. Hope they release the OST
Marathi cinema at its best!!Watch it only in theaters!!
